CarRental.news is an editorial publication about the global car rental industry, written for the people who rent the cars.
Why we exist
Renting a car should not require reading forty clauses of small print — but the small print is where the money is. Cancellations that return credit instead of cash, “full coverage” that is not insurance, deposits that tie up a credit card for weeks: these details are published, but rarely explained.
We read the documents so travellers can see, in plain English, what each company actually commits to — and where its marketing goes further than its terms.
What we publish
- Comparisons of brokers and rental companies, built from their own terms.
- Company and broker profiles, with every fact labelled and dated.
- Guides to deposits, excess, fees, tolls and pick-up.
- News and analysis of results, prices and policy changes that affect renters.
- Destination and airport guides, published only after researching local rules.
How we are funded
CarRental.news does not currently carry advertising, sponsored content or affiliate links. If we introduce any of them, we will explain how on our affiliate disclosure page and label them wherever they appear. They will not affect what we write.
Independence
No company we cover pays for, reviews or approves our coverage. Our editorial standards set out how we handle conflicts of interest, and our methodology explains how we research.
Who we are
Our work is currently published by our Research Desk and News Desk. We do not publish invented names or credentials; individual editor profiles will be added as they are completed.
